World Peace

Every nation has a dream. Something they're striving to meet. America wants equality. Mexico wants riches. France wants beauty. However, all nations are somewhat looking towards world peace. You know what I mean, a worldwide Utopia. Everyone loves everyone. Sounds nice, right? Exactly. It may sound a little far fetched, but wait, it is. As a matter of fact, it's very far fetched. Utopia is a Dr. King kind of dream. World peace is just as easy to accomplish as ridding the world of racism, or any other prejudice, for that matter.

The race of humans, Homo Sapiens, is a violent race. We always have been. Since the beginning of time, there has always been a Cain. The one who doesn't want his brother to be better than himself. Always, there have been peoples who want to 'rule the world.' For a perfect nation, we need a perfect people. Sound familiar? It should. It's been tried before and it's failed before. As a matter of fact, world peace was far from what happened. Ring a bell? Not yet? Okay, let me tell you a story. Once upon a time, in a land known well in history books, there was a man who was angry at a race of people. He blamed them for all the problems of the world, and wished them dead. So he killed them. Or, at least six million of them. Holocaust. World War II. Hitler and the Jews. He had an idea of Utopia and it failed.

Now let's move on. How can be peace be reached in a world where doing the wrong thing has become right? If a man commits adultery, his friends would be expected to chastise them for what he has done. Instead, they encourage him. Gluttony is advertised on public television. Our very own government all but shouts, "We are proud." Every famous actor, author, or sports player is envied by most everyone. As it is, every deadly sin has become a way of life. The things God was striking down for in the Old Testament are now passed of as acceptable even expected. A worldwide homicide seems much more likely than worldwide peace. Hopefully, our future generations will show more towards and amongst themselves.

There once was a perfect land. The Garden of Eden. It was where God first constructed people; Adam and Eve. In it were all different kinds of plants and animals, and all lived in harmony. There was but one rule: do not eat the forbidden fruit. You should know how this story goes. They were tempted. They gave in. The Garden was corrupted, and all chance of peace was destroyed. Now, plants and animals are strongly diverse, as well as people. We have has chance after chance to right what was wrong, but as I've said, the wrong thing has recently become right. Peace is fading farther and farther out, and now is not only out of reach, but out of sight as well.

The only possibility for a kind of Utopia is something to the affect of the worldwide homicide aforementioned; or should I say, worldwide suicide. Rid this planet of its only problem, and peace will be inevitable. In my personal experience, no single person is perfectly safe to trust with any kind of an extreme ruling power. Not even me. I think the best thing for this goal would be to send nuclear missiles to the four corners of the earth... and detonate them. But, of course, someone would want to live, and not set of the warhead, and lead people into war. again. Adam and Eve repeated.

Understand, I am not saying to you, "Throw out your dreams." I am simply saying, "Realize your dreams for what they are." When the powerful nation decides to work towards peace, definitely encourage it. Expect your country to become better; to evolve, if you will. Do not expect an actual Utopia. To do so would be completely asinine. In conclusion, I would like to ask a favour of you. Hitler has failed. The adulterous man's friends have failed. Adam and Eve have failed, and the only peaceful land has been corrupted. Please, I beg of you, do not fail as they have.
