Sylvia Farley a short biography

Sylvia Farley has had Multiple Sclerosis since the age of 14 but it has not stopped her enjoying life to the full. A mother of three children, she has worked as a landscape gardener, an information officer in a chemical company, a purchasing officer in a steel works, an executive officer for a national charity, a night club singer and provided bed, breakfast and evening meal for lorry drivers.

After a relapse she became severely disabled but retrained as a Psychologist with the Open University. Unable to counsel people face-to-face, she decided to write about how people could help themselves and started an Internet site with help from a Millennium Awards grant. This led her into computing and membership of the club from which she has received much help. Her web site, called SENS (Self-esteem Net Site) is at youareunique.co.uk.
