A Distant Laugh

"I am hurt and weary," said youth against old age's

laughter.

 

"Too soon have I led a long life. Many have I known

Many times I have wandered by, many times I have

stopped and been. I have seen and done many things,

plenty disgusts me, but not much shocks. I have seen

kindness and generosity, I have seen selfishness and

greed. I have been love and hate. And all the while

you my youth, will wearily journey on, not knowing

why or where you are going. But learning more with

every step, though never enough to stop and rest.
