Joel Chace has published more than fifteen collections of poetry, including Uncertain Relations (Birch Brook Press), Greatest Hits (Pudding House Publications), and o-d-e (Runaway Spoon Press). Northwood's Press, in 1984, published a collection of poems entitled The Harp beyond the Wall . Persephone Press, in 1992 published a second book, Red Ghost, which won the first Persephone Press Book Award and was nominated for a Pushcart Prize in that same year. Big Easy Press, in 1995, brought out a collection entitled Court of Ass-Sizes.
In June, 1997, came a full-length collection, Twentieth Century Deaths , from Singular Speech Press. The Melancholy of Yorick (Birch Brook Press), Maggnummappuss (nominated for a 1998 Pushcart Prize) A bi-lingual edition of Joel's poems is being prepared in Romania.
Chace is also a playwright. His Triptych was recently featured as part of Amphibian Productions' "The Next Leap" series at the Arc Light Theatre on West 71st Street in Manhattan . He is currently Poet in Residence at Mercersburg Academy and is Poetry Editor of "5 trope" at Webdelsol. |
