Abstract painter born in Belgium, Jan has been influenced by Ellsworth Kelly and Joan Miro (abstract amoebic shapes,delicate lines, pure color and hard-edge style).His work, in relation with the World System Analysis, is about old and new colonialism, mass and society, the international migration society, pacifism, the jews and the holocaust, etc. Critical works are : "white niggers" : a denunciation of colonial and modern abuses; referring to the slave mentality described by Nietzsche - he says about himself : " I am a white nigger" ; "fagospatose" is about the European political situation where the red ones are eaten up by the black ones ; "homo multiculturalis" is a philosophical work to express the surplus value brought by the eclecticism of many different cultures ; "wargasm" : the psychoanalysis of a warrior; "beyond the limit" ( they went too far ) remembers 9.11 and "holocaust" forms an ecphrastic unit with his poem "shoa"
Poet and poessayist, also known under the pen name of ORC (°1954), a few of his poems have become famous e.g. "Stalag Zehn B", "Papirac", "Yperite", "Tyne Cot" and "Shoa", which is an early warning against ideological hate.
