Think About Justin
Have you ever wondered why things are the way they are? For instance, why do butterflies have the exact same design on both wings? Why is it that the alphabet is in the order that it is? Why is it that bad things happen to both good and bad people? Well, the first two are scholarly questions. I do not like to go into those, but the latter will be accomplished. For an instant, think about the magnetic poles of the earth. There is a North and a South Pole; exact opposites. Now, imagine if there was only the North Pole. The planet we reside upon would be wildly spun out of control, throwing itself into utter chaos. Now, imagine that only good things happened upon your life. Without the bad things, you would have no idea that what you have is good. That would wildly spin you out of control, thus creating a complete chaos in your life. Now, imagine that all the things in your life were negative. Without the positive side of life, you would have no idea that negativity is flowing around you. This would also create a chaotic lifestyle. As with the magnetic poles that help to keep this planet in a steady orbit around our beloved sun, all of the positive and negative things thrown at us are meant to help keep our lives, as we mortally know them, in a neutral state. Some individuals may argue that their life is negative or positive to an extreme. To that statement, I have this to say. Look at all sides of your life, and you are sure to find that there are enough small and large happenings in both categories to even themselves out. If most of your possessiveness comes in small things and you let that upset you, then think about those who are doing so much more horribly than yourself. Feel pity for them, not for you. An example of this would be recorded in a song by the band 'Korn' called 'Justin.' The song is about a young man who was dying of cancer. He did not have much more span left to his life, and the Make a Wish Foundation allowed him to choose what he wanted for his going away present. He chose to meet with the lead singer of the aforementioned band, Jonathan Davis. Justin was not depressed about his upcoming death, but rather accepting. Not one person could look him in eyes, because they all felt so sorry for this kid who was just waiting to die. When you are feeling down about something that is really not all that important to your life, think about this kid who had accepted the fact that he was going to meet his end in a matter of days. Think about Justin and accept the fact that your life is not perfect. Think of Justin, and accept the facts that while you are still in the flesh, the little things are just as unimportant/important as the big. Think about Justin, and just be thankful for what you do have instead of depressed about what you do not. |
