From the land in the lake's reflection
(To Havgan)
Comes Arawn
Dressed in field-fallow and bare-tree
Horse of November sky,
He hunts for a mortal lord
An equal for his shadow self
To exchange thrones
A day and a year in Otherworld
- As he has a twin
Pale high summer clouds
Who fights at the equinox ford
And only a mortal could slay
By not delivering the fatal blow
To stay the hand
Against the fallen foe
That is the doom |

| Cardinal Cox has been having his writings published in numerous small-press publications for twenty years. His poetry grew out of the bands he and his friends had as teenagers, one of which (Sonic Energy Authority) has found its way into the novels of a handful of sf authors. |
